Mental health
Building a culturally capable workforce
South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust
100%said the workshops were critical to changing their practice
81%retention at eight weeks
The challenge
Through its Ethnicity and Mental Health Improvement Project (EMHIP), the Trust wanted to strengthen its workforce's ability to work with and care for the diverse communities it serves.
What we did
A fully co-produced cultural capability programme, shaped by extensive engagement with lived experience contributors and staff. It combines eLearning with experiential workshops led by professional actors and co-facilitators. Alongside this, Inclusivitii supports the programme's lived experience panel to co-design priorities, from cultural safety training to how impact is evidenced.
Outcome
Every participant said the workshops were critical to changing their practice. Staff describe asking more culturally curious questions, bringing spiritual beliefs, cultural values and traditions into handovers and MDT meetings, onboarding new colleagues with an emphasis on cultural humility, and reaching out to community organisations working with racialised groups to widen access to a talking therapies internship.
“The training has made me feel more confident at asking these questions and advocating for people, when they may not feel heard.” Mental health practitioner
“During handovers and MDT meetings, I will ensure that discussions include consideration of individuals' spiritual beliefs, cultural values, and traditions.” Mental health practitioner
NHS England Nursing and Midwifery Equity Programme
4.8/5average likelihood to recommend the programme
4.5/5average rating for structure and delivery
92%already applying the learning in their daily work
The challenge
Advancing equity in nursing and midwifery careers by connecting sponsorees with senior sponsors who could champion their progression and open doors to opportunity.
What we did
A sponsorship programme for sponsors and sponsorees combining character strengths and cultural intelligence assessments, race, identity, power and privilege, anti-racism and equity in leadership, career and sponsorship planning, and networking.
Outcome
Sponsorees describe greater confidence in leadership and job applications, and are actively championing colleagues into new opportunities. Sponsors report deeper understanding and more confident conversations about race and culture, with one holding more than 50 conversations with colleagues about the programme.
“It's made me a more confident leader.” Sponsoree
Funding and voluntary sector
Putting equity at the heart of funding
A national grant-making organisationFull client details available on request
89%rated the health inequalities training relevant to their role
78%felt confident applying the learning
The challenge
The organisation wanted its people, and its funding, to reach and work for every community, including those facing the greatest barriers.
What we did
Inclusivitii delivered inclusive leadership training and health inequalities training for staff, and worked with the organisation to create an inclusive funding strategy.
Outcome
A funding strategy that puts equity at the centre of decisions, and staff who describe putting it into practice straight away: revising the language in assessment reports, giving more detailed feedback to groups, and picking up the phone to support applicants with fundable projects.
“An example of a perfect training session.” Funding Officer
International
From early learning to a measurable EDI strategy
An international humanitarian organisationFull client details available on request
The challenge
The organisation wanted to build inclusion into how it works internally, so its culture matched the values behind its humanitarian mission.
What we did
We supported the organisation from the earliest stage of learning and reflection through to a concrete strategy and action plan.
Outcome
An EDI strategy with clear indicators to monitor progress, strengthening inclusive practice across the organisation and in its work supporting refugees.
Regional government
Strengthening the governance of a lived experience panel
A regional race equality panelFull client details available on request
The challenge
The panel advises a combined authority's political leaders on race equality. It needed independent facilitation and governance that would keep members' voices strong and its advice credible.
What we did
Appointed as independent facilitator for a three-year term (2025 to 2028), Inclusivitii created the conditions for genuine co-production between panel members and the Combined Authority: structured sessions that turn lived experience into clear, actionable policy advice, a clear governance framework, and a regular communication rhythm that keeps members and officers connected.
Outcome
Lived experience is moving from consultation to influence. Panel advice is co-produced with members and fed directly into policy discussions with political leaders, strengthening the panel's independence, voice and credibility.
Higher education
Building equality into everyday decisions
A universityFull client details available on request
49% → 94%confident applying EDI principles in their role
9.0/10average overall rating
7% → 83%confident with Equality Impact Assessments
48% → 94%confident speaking up and leading inclusive discussions
The challenge
The University wanted staff to consider equality from the very start when designing policies, services and decisions, rather than as a check at the end.
What we did
Equality by Design, a two-session programme. The first session introduced equality and equity, power and privilege, psychological safety, intersectionality and the purpose of Equality Impact Assessments. The second was practical: scenario-based exercises, small-group discussion and each participant's own stop, start, continue and change commitments.
Outcome
Confidence rose in every area measured and low confidence was virtually eliminated. Understanding of equality policy rose from 49% to 92%. Participants committed to asking whether an impact assessment has been done, seeking out the quietest voice in the room, and considering equality impact proactively rather than retrospectively.
“Before every decision, questions should be asked: who is or will be affected, who benefits and who doesn't, who is not in the room?” Programme participant
City strategy
A city-wide strategy in a period of rapid change
A major UK city councilFull client details available on request
1,600+residents, staff, elected members and community groups shaped the strategy through surveys, focus groups, postcards and community-led sessions
The challenge
Designing a strategy for a whole city, with shifting politics, economics and public sentiment, and a need to build trust with communities.
What we did
Inclusivitii brought together leaders, partners and communities to move from intention to system-wide commitments, treating the work as a leadership and trust-building process rather than a policy exercise. From the outset, the focus was on a strategy that felt accessible, human and grounded in lived experience: something people could genuinely connect with, not just another document.
Outcome
A city-wide race equality strategy with shared ownership across the city. Its communication and engagement approach was recognised when the city's anti-racism campaign was named a finalist in the MJ Achievement Awards 2026 for Communications.
Housing
Safer, more respectful workplaces in housing
Housing sector, delivered with a sector partnerFull client details available on request
The challenge
Housing providers wanted staff to understand their responsibilities on sexual harassment and feel confident to recognise, challenge and report it.
What we did
Working with a housing sector partner, Inclusivitii delivered interactive, reflective sexual harassment training that moves beyond compliance to everyday behaviour and culture.
Leadership development
Intersectional Leadership Programme for Women
Public and voluntary sector organisationsFull client details available on request
The challenge
Many women, particularly women of colour, face barriers to senior leadership that generic leadership programmes do not address.
What we did
Cohort leadership programmes that recognise how race, class, disability and other identities shape experience, combining racial trauma-informed practice, psychological safety and one-to-one coaching for every participant.
Outcome
Programmes and coaching delivered across the voluntary sector and local government, giving women the space, tools and sponsorship to step confidently into senior roles.
